Thank You Robyn Hood Black!

Posted by Laura Losch on May 1, 2009

What an awesome day yesterday with Robyn Hood Black! She spoke to ALL the 6th graders about her book Wolves. It was a great refresher on the parts of a story. Robyn also gave the students some incite into what it takes to write and publish a book.

Each group also wrote their very own story (with help from Robyn). These stories turned out great! They’re hilarious! If you stop by the library, you’ll have to check out these stories (especially the one about the portable taco holder!).

Check out a few pics from the day:

See you in the library!

Poem in Your Pocket Day A Success!

Posted by Laura Losch on May 1, 2009

That was SO much fun, handing out poems to every student to keep in their pocket all day. And I also enjoyed going around and “patrolling” to see who had a poem and rewarding those who did with a bit of chocolate!

I couldn’t believe how many people had homemade poems!!! That is so awesome to have talented students who came up with their own original poem to share! I enjoyed reading them all!

Let’s plan this for next year too!! See you in the library!!
